What documentation must be handed over to EaseAbroad before we can start finding a house for you?
- Certificate of Enrolment (CoE)
- Receipt of paid TAFE, University or College fees
- Recognised international bank statement of their parent's accounts
- Completed our sign up form (Particularly on criteria of house search)
- Photocopy of passport
- Photocopy of student ID (where possible)
- Statement from parents saying that they will guarantee or be a guarantor for the person applying
Why is there such a strict timeline for handing over documentation and payment?
Australian real estate companies have to receive ALL documentation and payment (bond and first month’s rent) within 48 hours of the lease being approved. Otherwise they have the legal right to find another tenant. We might seem pushy when it comes time to hand over documents and payment. This is because we want to ensure that you get the house that you have applied for.
Can I see the house personally before making payment?
Unfortunately, no. As stated above, real estate companies have to receive ALL documentation and payment (bond and first month’s rent) within 48 hours of the lease being approved. If your search criteria and details have been specific, you can be sure that we have found a house that has matched your expectations.
Why does the bond and first month’s rent have to be sent to the real estate agent directly and not through us?
This is done for two main reasons. The first reason is to ensure that payment reaches the real estate agency in the shortest time possible. The second reason is to show confirmation to you that the house that you want to rent has been approved. (As no payment pertaining to the house goes through us, you can be certain it is for the house!). Under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances, different arrangements for payment can be made
How about connection of utilities?
When the house has been approved, we will connect all utilities for you (electricity, water and gas). We will choose utility companies that do not have contract cancellation fees so that you can change utility companies if you find a better deal.
Note: we do not provide an internet connection for you due to security and legal issues.
What other add-on services does EaseAbroad offer?
If specifically asked, we will purchase a mattress and bed linen for you so that you can sleep in your house the first night you arrive.
